Hair “How
To” :
Get to
Beauty from the Beast
After many questions
about how I curl my hair, I have decided to give a tutorial!! It is very
simple, so doing a video would have been unnecessary. I will give step-by-step instructions
along with pictures I took while curling my hair. (P.S.- I burnt myself a
million times trying to take these pictures, so I am very pleased that my hair
turned out the way it did, and I hope you are too!)
As you can see, my natural
hair is very unruly. I usually go to bed with it wet, in order to keep it
healthier. (I do have to admit, I blow dry it a lot, too…shame on me.) I chose
not to blow dry it this time to show that it can go from freaky to fabulous in
just minutes. (Except mine usually takes 30 minutes. UGH.)
Here is the curling
iron!! It’s the Cortex 4 in 1 wand. I only use the 1.5 inch barrel though. I
prefer “bombshell” curls over “Shirley Temple” curls. (Bless her heart; Rest in
peace, Shirley.I sure loved you growing up.) And remember, ALWAYS curls your hair AWAY from your face. Always. (Or I will come hunt you down.) Totally kidding, but seriously please curl it away from your face. It’s prettier and more flattering. Best of both worlds, right??I sure loved you growing up.) I section it three times: first, right above the ears.
I curl it from back to front,
so I can push the already curled hair to the back and not have it all in my
face. I have the iron set to 350 degrees and let the hair sit for about 5
seconds. (7 if it is windy or I have an event that needs extra hold.)
Once the first section is
done, I bring down the next section and begin!!
Now, I bring down the
final section! As you can see, I did the other side. Almost done….
YAY ALL DONE! Big, bouncy
curls!
Then I push it all to the
back and shake it out a little bit..
Once it is the volume I
like, I spray it with Suave “Touchable Finish”. I first bought it because the
bottle hat pink on it (surprise, surprise) and then fell in love. If y’all have
any suggestions of other amazing hairsprays, let me know!!
I hope you enjoyed (and
understood) this tutorial!!
XOXO
